One morning, Shia called Ashley to talk wine. The pair discussed how wine is at the center of late night friend chats, celebrations and even moments of relaxation. Shia and Ashley connected over all the ways wine brings people together, soothes the soul and creates moments of joy.
At the end of their call, a trip to Napa was planned and their brand was born. One trip to Napa Valley and three months later, J&H Estates was created. J&H Estates has evolved beyond wine, into a brand that helps others explore their passions, connect and create. James Hendricks is a consulting firm for business owners that want to create and effectively distribute and market their own brands.
OUR CO-FOUNDERS
Ashley James is an expert in the international luxury hospitality industry and a Michelin trained Chef. She realized that in order to give a customer the best overall experience, you have to know all aspects of how to create, execute and deliver your product. She has spent the last 15 years doing just that. Ashley is a Houston native that enjoys curating events, cooking for friends, traveling and exploring new dishes and ways to live luxuriously.
Shia Hendricks, MBA, is a corporate change maker and national consumer packaged goods sales leader. She has spent 15+ years working with Fortune 100 retailers and manufacturers to build and execute effective sales strategies that grow brands. Shia is a Birmingham native that loves to live life to the fullest by eating well, drinking wine with friends and traveling as often as she can.
Together, Ashley James and Shia Hendricks make up James Hendricks their parent company and consulting business and J&H Estates wine label. Through their J&H Estates wine and James Hendricks consulting businesses, they are dedicated to helping their customers connect, celebrate and enjoy more of life.
OUR WINEMAKER
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Evan's passion for winemaking began with the aromas of yeast from freshly brewed beer in the air. He started his career in the vineyards of Lange Estate in the Dundee Hills of Willamette Valley, Oregon, before traveling the world to work at renowned wineries like Schild Estate vineyard in South Australia, where he made wine from 135-year-old Grenache and 150-year-old Shiraz. Upon returning to the United States, Evan settled in Milwaukee to be closer to family and earned his CSW while selling world-class wines. The pandemic provided Evan with an opportunity to return to winemaking as the vintage enologist at Pride Mountain Vineyards in California in 2020.
Evan's passion and dedication to winemaking led him to his position as Associate Winemaker for Marchelle Wines, where he works alongside Greg La Follette 7 and as Winemaker for J&H Estates. Evan continues to learn from one of the industry's most respected figures and passing on the wisdom of his mentor, the legendary André Tchelistcheff. By listening to the heart and soul of the vineyards, Evan has learned to created world-class wines that are sure to delight wine enthusiasts for years to come. His recent releases of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have already earned impressive 95-point scores, cementing his reputation as one of the industry's rising stars.
